Hello hello! :)
It's a sunny Sunday morning here in San Francisco. And I'm so happy to be back to my blog with 5 amazing book recommendations! These books helped me so much in my personal growth, spiritual practice and having a positive perspective on life. If you are looking for some books to curl up with this season, definitely give one of these a try.

1.The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance---What Women Should Know (Kay, Katty;Shipman, Claire)I really wanted to educate myself about building confidence and gaining practical tips to feel more empowered in everyday life. This book was written by two amazing women on a quest to offer a formula for women so that they can be empowered by the power and satisfaction of a confident life. I loved reading this book so much and would recommend if you’re interested in this subject. You can check this book out here.
Here’s one of my favorite quotes from this book:

"If you only remember one thing from this book, let it be this: When in doubt, act. Every piece of research we have studied, and every interview we have conducted, leads to the same conclusion: Nothing builds confidence like taking action, especially when the action involves risk and failure. Risk keeps you on life’s edge. It keeps you growing, improving, and gaining confidence."

2.
The Millionaire Next Door (Thomas J. Stanley;William D. Danko)

As a self employed 27 year old, I feel like there is so much that I need to learn about finance and economic freedom. We never learn about it in college and no one talks about this. This year, I really want to get my finances right, learn tools and tips to be financially safe. I think it is very important to educate ourselves on this topic- especially in this Instagram “perfect life” age.

We are led to believe that we have to spend more, show off more to be perceived as rich and wealthy - especially here in America. The reality behind how people actually become and stay wealthy is such a different story.

This book was recommended to me by my husband and he knows his stuff! To be honest, I delayed reading it for the longest time because I was afraid that it would be so boring to read. But then I figured I have to give it a try, what could I lose. It was actually a very interesting, fun and easy read. You can check this book out here. Definitely recommend it! Here’s one of my favorite quotes from this book:

“Wealth is more often the result of a lifestyle of hard work, perseverance, planning, and, most of all, self-discipline.”

3. A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles (Marianne Williamson)

If you are looking to improve your spiritual practice, find inner peace and basically have a more fulfilling life, read this book.

Keep an open mind and heart while reading it. Don’t be afraid of the language used in this book. It’s really not about a religion or Christianity. It literally changed my perspective so much, in a very positive way. Whenever I feel my anxiety creeping in about work, my relationships or even my health, I open a page and instantly come back to a loving positive state. It’s like a miracle! You can check this book out here.

I underlined about %90 of the book. :) But here are some of my favorite quotes.

“Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.” What that means is this: Love is real. It’s an eternal creation and nothing can destroy it. Anything that isn’t love is an illusion. Remember this, and you’ll be at peace.”

4.
The Blue Zones Solution (Dan Buettner)

Ever wondered the secret to longer and healthier life? This book explores the lifestyles of people around the world who live up to be 100 year old - happily and healthily! The author Dan Buettner is a National Geographic Explorer and his team traveled all over the globe to uncover the secrets to a long healthy lives.

The Blue Zones Solution offers food ideas and eating practices, plus ways to change your environment that make it all the more likely that you will live a longer, healthier life. The recipe for longevity, Buettner has found, is deeply intertwined with community, lifestyle, and spirituality. You won't find longevity in a bottle of diet pills or with hormone therapy. You'll find it by embracing a few simple but powerful habits, and by creating the right community around yourself. You can check this book out here.

My favorite quote: “The most powerful determinants of our health and well-being are the lifestyle choices we make each day: •  Choosing a whole foods, plant-based diet (naturally low in fat and sugar) • Practicing stress management techniques (including yoga and meditation) •  Enjoying moderate exercise (such as walking) • Maintaining social support and community (love and intimacy, meaning and purpose)”

5. The Universe Has Your Back (Gabrielle Bernstein)
I really didn’t want to like this book. I was so judgemental of the author. I already heard a million times to think positively bla bla bla. So there’s nothing worth my time to read this book. Well, turns out, I had so much to learn about life, faith, spirituality, forgiveness, long lasting inner peace. I read it twice and I go back to it almost daily.

There are very useful mindfulness tools, quick meditations and life changing affirmations for almost every kind of problem you might have. They are so helpful and I use them in my meditations every day. Read this book. I repeat. Read this book. You can check this book out here.

I have so many quotes that I love and here’s one of them:

“When we pray and meditate, we immediately lock into our connection to love and surrender to higher wisdom. It’s our daily commitment to choose love, tune in, and converse with the Universe that sets us up to live with certainty that we’re being guided and supported. Living with certainty is so much fun! You can walk through life with a sense of safety, security, and power. You’ll no longer feel disconnected from others and out of alignment. You’ll know a new sense of connection that you can’t get from any kind of material goods, titles, awards, degrees, and so on. This connection is everlasting and trusting and it sets you free.”
Let me know if you read or planning to read any of them!
Lots of love,
Hande xx
