300 feet 800 year-old trees. It's like I'm in a Lord of the Rings movie. Muir Woods is just a few miles north of San Francisco. If you haven't been there, you need to GO! It's truly magical.
I love being outdoors, especially when the weather is nice enough to enjoy ourselves a few hours without worrying about freezing or melting down. We took advantage of the weather last weekend and went on a 4-hour hike with friends! It's always so intimidating at first, but you walk around in amazement in this park, and time literally flies.
Enough about that, let's move onto what I wore and where we ate afterwards...
Keeping things simple and practical, I was in my black Nike Pro-Cool training tights, a white Madewell t-shirt , and my favorite Nike Free 5.0 trainers (RIP- the mud just destroyed her!) I took an old sweater with me too, just in case.
Choosing the right outfit is always problematic in the Bay Area. You know what they say, it's all about the layers and sweater weather in SF: a.k.a just take a sweater with you if you're stepping outside!
The best lemonade in Sausolita!
We discovered the perfect place after hiking, the Fish. It is located in Sausalito, a quick drive on the way back from the park. Highly recommend their lemonades! It is so refreshing, not too sweet or sour, just perfectly refreshing healthy drink after a hike! This cash-only restaurant is super casual and serves fast. They have the most amazing salads. They are not really vegan-friendly (obviously). But my friends LOVED the seafood options.
