There are countless ways to lose a few pounds and get a more toned body. It is often overwhelming and confusing to tell the new trends from fads and scams in the fitness world. However, what is often overlooked is how our fitness routine is really affecting our overall health and wellbeing.

Move it because you love it. 

The secret is: You should work out out and be active because you love your body, not because you hate it. Don't turn your fitness routine into punishment sessions. I have been there and I understand the mental struggle. You feel like you have to go to the gym and get into the “beast mode”. But the traditional hard core workouts are simply not the answer for some of us.

This is something I have come to embrace over years of working out and trying different fitness routines. I can finally say that I've found my way to the best shape of my life and the happiest I've ever been. This was all due to a new way of looking at things. A mindset shift.


There are gentler ways to feel the burn and feel good. You can give yoga and Pilates another try. You’d still sweat and push yourself, but be more mindful of how you’re moving. So, find your own way.

Remember that it should be fun and feel like you're doing something good for your body. It should feel refreshing and empowering and calm. That’s the whole point.
